Sunday, September 26th, is the mesothelioma awareness Day, and volunteers and staff of the Foundation for applied research Meosthelioma will gather at Rockefeller Plaza in an attempt to get some seconds of airtime. MARF Director Kathy Wiedemer even said in an email blast that the show could give them a mention on the air. the show will air at 8 pm EST on NBC.
the day mesothelioma awareness is a movement at both the federal state and declare September 26 a day to recognize mesothelioma. last year, Illinois was one of eight states, including Missouri, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Colorado and Washington, to make a proclamation or pass a resolution formally recognizing September 26 as mesothelioma awareness Day.
The Simmons Hanly Conroy celebrate awareness of Mesothelioma Day, which was first started by MARF five years ago, hosting the second Miles for Meso 5K Run and 3K Fun Walk in Alton, Illinois. Other activities taking place around the nation to draw attention to this often fatal cancer and underfunded include radio presentations, two Miles for Meso walks sponsored by the company, and a school event in California among others.
