Café brings happy memories -

When there is a hot cup of coffee in front of me, I just do not see the darkness of the infusion, smell the strong aroma as it rises from the cup or anticipate its strong bitterness. My perception goes beyond the physical senses.

A cup of java remember the moments I enjoy sipping coffee with my mother and stepfather, Jeff Wahl, who died of mesothelioma.

Although there are advantages and disadvantages to drinking coffee, especially for cancer patients, it has been a positive light in my fitness journey, and by the process mourning losing a loved one to mesothelioma.

Learn to enjoy coffee

Mesothelioma hit close to home when he took the life of my stepfather. There were about seven months from diagnosis passage.

Many changes took place during these seven months, but the coffee helped me deal with them.

When I grew up, Jeff, and my mother always shared their morning cup of coffee together. To be honest, I never really understood. They act as if they could not function until they have their coffee.

I did not like the taste of it, but they always swore I acquire the taste for it later. It was not until I left for college when I started to open and try new things. My roommate at the time told me jokingly. "If you ever want to succeed, you must learn to drink black coffee"

After many attempts, I eventually grew to love the things .

coffee stirs memories

It was in 2011, before spring break, when the coffee made me start acting like my mother and Jeff. when the alarm rings, I made a beeline for the coffee pot.

I knew I was going home the following week. I am happy to know that soon I would be sitting in the living room with the sun peeking through the blinds and watch Sports Center while drinking a cup of coffee with my mother and Jeff.

But that happiness was short lived.

the same week I received the call that changed my life. Jeff had been hospitalized after a test showed a spot on his lung Jeff quickly changed his diet. No coffee, food or anything too treated acid

I went anticipating a quiet cup of coffee in the lounge, but instead, we ate breakfast in the hospital cafeteria .. It was certainly not what I expected, but life rarely is.

After Jeff passed away, I noticed each time I poured a cup of coffee, I imagined myself in the living room with him and my mother. With the first warm sip, came a sense of normalcy - an important sentiment change for a period of

I now wake up every morning and enjoy this cup of coffee with Jeff, at least in spirit. . It is important that I got to where I came to remind know where I want to go, and my cup of coffee in the morning has played an important role.

Health risks and benefits of coffee

What about the health risks and benefits of coffee? Does coffee have affected Jeff if he kept drinking during his battle with mesothelioma? What kind of effect does coffee have on my fitness level?

Donald D. Hensrud, MD, associate professor of preventive medicine and nutrition at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine wrote that "most studies show an association between coffee consumption and a decrease in overall mortality and possibly cardiovascular mortality, although this can not be true among youth who drink large amounts of coffee. "

Moderation is the key here.

If you drink a cup of coffee every day, there are more health benefits likely outweigh the risks. However, this does not mean that coffee is for everyone.

When Jeff was struggling with mesothelioma, it has been prescribed a specific diet. it has become incredibly sensitive to the taste and smell. the who remembers the first time they tried a cup of coffee, can recall its strong taste and aroma.

Although the coffee acts as a mild diuretic, meaning it causes drinkers urinating more than usual, the Mayo Clinic explains that drinking it will not cause the loss of excess fluid. However, a person with mesothelioma can have a severe need to stay hydrated. drink more coffee than water can aggravate mesothelioma symptoms worsen due to dehydration.

Coffee as a pre-workout supplement

In general, I always recommend that my clients drink two cups of water for each cup of coffee they drink, in addition to their consumption normal daily water, especially if they are exercising.

black coffee is my favorite pre-workout supplement because it does not contain a long list of ingredients, just coffee. and water

black Drinking coffee before a workout has been associated with:

  • accelerated fat loss
  • performance increase
  • Improved development
  • Decreased muscle pain
  • disease prevention

again, make sure you drink plenty of water before, during and after exercise to ensure proper hydration. Stay strong, hydrated, healthy, and above all, never give up.
