Serving the state of Montana since 1978, US Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.) Has been a leader in the recovery process involving the historical tragedy of asbestos mining in Libby, Montana. Mining operations by W.R. Grace & Company have caused one of the biggest public health emergencies in the United States. He pushed to clean up the mess and helped establish the resolution of National Awareness Week asbestos.
National Week of asbestos awareness is the first week of April and serves as a reminder to educate the public about the dangers of asbestos. It is a time when we encourage our readers to take a moment and help disseminate information about the dangers of asbestos.

National Asbestos Awareness Week started off March 30 with the eighth Awareness Conference Annual International Asbestos in Los Angeles, California. Several doctors and lawyers spoke awareness to asbestos, the treatment of diseases related to asbestos, and the stories of survivors.
