Asbestos problems finally comes to light on national television -

Something caught my attention last week I walked the TV ?? DIY guru on an HGTV ask someone to take care of asbestos.

I was shocked to hear the word asbestos spoken everywhere on national television, much less on a major network. It also took me a little off guard after hearing asking the owner to deal with it instead of advising them to seek professional help.

Hopefully this was a joke.

exposure to asbestos during home renovations and DIY projects should be a big concern for homeowners wishing to make changes in a cost effective manner. Previously, the network will cover DIY projects to viewers without discussing the possibility of being exposed to toxic chemicals. If you're like me, some of our projects at home turn into a catastrophe. DYI a show where comic disaster highlights common mistakes owners make when taking these projects, but asbestos is no laughing matter.

Fortunately, DIY shows recently presented the importance of safety when working on your home by shows featuring such as Holmes Inspection on HGTV. This exhibition presents owners with problems involving massive repair or unsafe living condition after being misled by a home inspector or contractor.

Mike Holmes inspector comes to re-examine and resolve the problem. This is an excellent example of why it is so important to find a certified building inspector when buying or renovating your home.

House Detectives, also a new show on HGTV, is slightly different because it highlights the ins and outs of home inspection. The informative series takes the viewer into the nooks and crannies of homes and show them the inspection process. It shows what the owners expect a home inspection and common problems that may occur in the process.

Hitting the screen later this year will be two mini-series parts of ABC's "Dust Devil", featuring the story of three men and their experience with asbestos. This is an inspirational drama that will highlight the scandal, politics and the media industry the power to asbestos through the decisions taken by the Australian based company James Hardie.

The risks to asbestos finally receive advertising that was needed for decades. preventing asbestos is the only way to avoid the risk of developing mesothelioma, a rare and deadly cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. The presence of our community and the government involved will be key to making this possible.
