"Hi, I am and I Kaylen I'm the medical director of advocacy for mesothelioma Centre

In the video of last week, I went on the three main sources funding for clinical trials of mesothelioma. this included the support of industry, government grants and funding from foundations and other organizations. Today I wanted to return to the ways you could contact your elected officials and ask if they increase government support to fund clinical trials for mesothelioma.

the Internet can be a very handy tool to get in touch with your elected officials. by visiting Contactingthecongress.org you can filter by state and then see a list ofinformation, including phone number, email address and physical address to your senators and state representatives. Share your story in the form of an email or a letter, and request to increase funding for research on mesothelioma. If you want help in the writing of this letter, please contact me and I would be happy to share with you a model.

Although it is a little more difficult than writing a letter or sending an e-mail, another way to influence your elected officials is to schedule a face to face meeting with them or members their staff. These meetings may take place either in the offices or DC office. To find out when your congressmen will be in the local office, you can visit the website, call the office directly or get on the mailing list.

If you chose to do a face to face meeting, it is very important that you schedule an appointment. These requests may be made by mail, fax or telephone. Join next week when I go on speaking points for your meetings and letters and thank you for watching. "
