Next spring our awareness of the Organization of friends to asbestos-related diseases will host the sixth annual conference in Chicago. We spoke with Linda Reinstein, Executive Director for ADAO, and she told us the program this year promises to be the largest conference to date. The list of speakers will feature experts on asbestos and mesothelioma renowned as Dr. Hedy Kindler. No doubt Simmons Hanly Conroy member will be present to show their support. ADAO Asbestos awareness Day Honorees
US Senator Richard Durbin will be presented with the Tribute of Hope Award for his steadfast commitment and determination to ban asbestos.
The Center for Asbestos Related Disease Center (CARD) will receive the Tribute Award of the unit for their work to unite, educate and empower asbestos victims and medical community.
Dr. Hedy Kindler will be recognized with the Dr. Irving Selikoff Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of the research of Dr. Selikoff dedicated to asbestos in the social and medical impact was on humanity.
Fernanda Giannasai will be presented with teh Tribute of Inspiration Award for being a bridge of hope and strength for asbestos victims in India and worldwide
Warren Zevon "Keep me in your heart" Memorial Award -. TBA
June Breit , posthumously, Alan Reinstein Memorial Award for his commitment to advocacy to eradicate mesothelioma and provide support to patients and their families.
