Mesothelioma Awareness Day, which takes place September 26 is fast approaching. If you plan to get involved this year, now is the time.
National Mesothelioma Awareness Day a day dedicated to raising awareness and research funds for mesothelioma. It began in 04, when it was created by a group of volunteers of the Foundation of Applied Research mesothelioma. In 2010, the US Congress passed a resolution designating September 26 as a National Day mesothelioma awareness. Every year since then, participation in the awareness day has seen more growth and more widespread
The day is especially important to friends, family and caregivers of patients with mesothelioma -. As mesothelioma victims and survivors themselves. To participate in the Mesothelioma Awareness Day this year, choose one of the options below:

- Attend an event. Even if you are organizing an event yourself, raising funds to participate in someone else is a great way to participate in and contribute to Meso Awareness Day. See upcoming community events to see if there is an event near you.
- Contact your local media. Let your local newspapers, radio and television stations know the Meso Awareness Day so they can do a story about you, your family or your event and help spread awareness of the serious illness.
- Making Meso Awareness Day official in your city and state. You can ask your city or state to recognize Meso Awareness Day by contacting the appropriate officials. The Meso Foundation has step by step instructions on how to do it here.
- Attending a conference mesothelioma. The Meso Foundation is organizing two conferences in 2014 for interested participants. Its regional conference will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 26 September and a second regional conference will be held in Chicago on October 10
- Go to Rockefeller Plaza for the Today Show on September 26 the Meso Foundation will be on the Today Show September 26 promoting awareness day, and you could be among the crowd showing its support by organizing and carrying signs Meso awareness day t-shirts.
