Cancer sufferer's plea to former workmates

A man suffering from terminal cancer has issued a call to former colleagues.David Greenwood, 66, was diagnosed with mesothelioma, which is associated with exposure to asbestos.He worked for 44 years with Ellison Circlips Limited, spending time on websites Keighley, Bingley Harden and the company.

Mr Greenwood said that during his working life with the company - which also known as Ellison Holdings PLC, Transtechnology Ltd and currently Cirteq - he was exposed to asbestos dust and fibers.law firm based in Leeds, Irwin Mitchell, took-his case.And, in an appeal to coincide with the Day of Action mesothelioma, former colleagues of Mr. Greenwood with information about the working conditions at the time are invited to come forward.


Lucy Andrews, a lawyer of industrial disease Irwin Mitchell, said: "Diseases related to asbestos are the biggest killer of the work of all time and mesothelioma kills more than 2,500 people in the UK each year, often affecting people decades after they were exposed to the material."It is well known that asbestos was commonly used in the construction industry and used in commercial buildings, such as factories and warehouses.


"It is vital, on Action Mesothelioma Day, we sensitize the poses risks of the substance and reality of living with mesothelioma."People like David continue to be diagnosed with this terrible disease every day, and it is important to educate the ongoing battle people face.


"We appeal to those who worked with David to come forward and provide details about the presence of asbestos in the company, the warning provided to staff on the dangers of asbestos, and what action, if any , have been taken to protect the employees. "Mr. Greenwood, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy in order to fight against the disease, said: "Mesothelioma has had a huge impact on my life.


"The treatment I am undergoing left me feeling weak, makes me lose my appetite and left me to rely on friends and family more than ever.
