UK’s Youngest Peritoneal Mesothelioma Patient Passes Away -

Last week, a young woman of Britian, 28, died due to peritoneal mesothelioma, an asbestos cancer that attacks the wall of the abdomen. She was considered the youngest patient Mesothelioma UK.

According to a story in the Daily Mail, Leigh Carlisle grew up in Manchester and was diagnosed two years ago. Unfortunately, his symptoms were originally taken for the most common diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The doctors were of course shocked to learn that she was ill with peritoneal mesothelioma due to asbestos.

Yes, as you read here before, mesothelioma is usually found in older people because of its long latency period (20-50 years in most cases). Exposure to asbestos Carlisle is supposed to come to his school or a factory near the house where she group up.

This story is a reminder that mesothelioma and asbestos-related diseases do not discriminate. The asbestos cancer knows no boundaries. No age limit

Carlisle's family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Cancer Support Centre Oldham :.
